Raw is an analogue and unedited photography series of a remote island in Northern Brazil. The creation of memories plays a central role in landscapes being photographed. The urge to have experiences is translated into the urge to make pictures. The classic post cards were greetings from other places, therefore historical traces of memories – a sign of existence from elsewhere. The grain and colours of the film were enhanced and eroded with a sea salt process on the film to exaggerate the feeling of un-real. The longing for other places and the desire to travel exists in our longing for another world.
